Vienna Again

Back in May Brian went to a conference in Vienna for a day and the kids happened to have the same day off from school, so we took advantage to see a little more of the wonderful city. My kids could be heard saying something like,"Vienna again?" I took the kids to the Albertina, an art museum in Vienna, in search of some Albrecht Durer drawings because Cam & I had read a fictional story about his miniature sketches. Just our luck, that wing of the museum was closed!

At the Albertina Museum

The kids were very excited about the latter part of our day because we went to Prater, an amusement park.  This area was changed from a hunting grounds to a place for the general public in 1766.  "Freak shows" were the original draw for people.  Now it's more like a fairground, each ride or game is owned and managed separately and it's not cheap!  The Reisenrad (giant ferris wheel) is the original from 1897!

The trampolines were probably their favorite part!

Carousel with live horses!

Mini bumper cars that Becca got to drive by herself.
